TAKE ACTION NETWORK (TAN)
*** MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD ***
NCCI urges you to sign up for the Take Action Network (TAN) and let your elected officials hear your voices on those legislative issues that are important to you.
The following is a description of the TAN platform:
History
TAN was developed by Daniel Weise, who belongs to the group Washington Indivisible Legislative Action (WILA). The goal of TAN was to help pass progressive bills going through the Washington State legislature. Additionally, stopping bills that are seen as regressive in nature is also part of TAN’s goals.
General
The TAN platform electronically collects and tracks legislature actions and bills from the State of Washington. These legislative actions and bills tend to be progressive in nature.
Suggested actions to take are automatically shown to users, and actions are generated based on each individual user’s specific interests and geographical location. Actionable items can consist of writing/emailing your Federal/State/Local elected representatives, giving written testimony to committees, and attending various events. The TAN program has made it easy to determine who to write/email, provides the contact emails, and often a suggested script to use.
In under 5 minutes a day you can support/oppose bills, and send pre-written emails to your senator, representatives, and committee members.
TAN to make it easy for you to have your voice heard on important topics like:
- Immigration
- Environmental policy
- Housing & Homelessness
- Reproductive rights
- Democracy
- Education
- LGTBQI+
- And many other progressive issues
North Clark County Indivisble Specific Issues
NCCI suggests using TAN to speak out on the multitude of legislations and bills that are suggested. In addition, NCCI will be uploading local issues and events of specific interest to those in our northern Clark County area. We have already begun to upload into TAN Battle Ground Public School issues and City of Battle Ground Council meeting events. Additional local issues and events are currently in the works.
